What's inside
Ten to fifteen ingredients per bar, sweetened by dates. Here is every one of them, what it does, and the full nutrition panel for all three flavors side by side.
What we leave out
Most of what makes a protein bar taste like a protein bar is the stuff we left out.
Every bit of sweetness comes from dates, raisins and real strawberries. The label reads 0g added sugars on all three bars.
No erythritol, no maltitol, no xylitol. Nothing that upsets your stomach an hour later.
No sucralose, no aspartame. The fruit does the work.
No canola, no soybean, no sunflower oil. The fat comes from whole nuts, cacao butter and seed butter.
No soy protein isolate, no glycerin, no gums. Nothing in there to pad the bar out.
A label that can legally hide dozens of ingredients. You will not find it on ours.
Read the ingredient list and every line is a food you already know.
Ten to fifteen ingredients, no hiding places
Ten to fifteen ingredients per bar, depending on the flavor. Here are all of them, what each one is doing, and which bars it turns up in.
The whole sweetener. Caramel-like sweetness plus fiber, so the sugar arrives with something useful attached.
All three flavors
Half of the protein base. Paired with rice protein it becomes a complete protein.
All three flavors
The other half. Together with pea protein it delivers a full amino acid profile.
All three flavors
Fat, crunch and the brownie texture. Also where the plant-based omega-3s come from.
Walnut Brownie
The peanut butter half of PB&J. Fat, protein and structure.
Peanut Butter & Jelly
Binds the bar without oils or syrups and keeps it soft. Seed butter, not seed oil.
Walnut Brownie and Oatmeal Chai
Slow carbohydrate and the chew. Whole grain oats, nothing refined.
All three flavors
The actual jelly. Real fruit, not jam or concentrated puree.
Peanut Butter & Jelly
Extra sweetness and a chewier texture that suits the chai profile.
Oatmeal Chai
Holds the bar together and gives it a clean melt.
All three flavors
Bitter chocolate counterpoint and a bit of crunch.
All three flavors
Fiber and omega-3s, and it helps the texture hold.

Straight answers
Kailo is sweetened with organic medjool dates. Simple as that. There's no added sugar, artificial sweeteners, or anything you need to google like allulose, erythritol, or maltitol.
Nope. Kailo bars don't contain any processed seed oils. We're all about using high-quality, clean ingredients, so you won't find canola, soybean, or sunflower oil here. Any fats in our bars come from whole food sources like nuts, cacao, and seed butter.
We don't use any gluten-containing ingredients like wheat, barley, or rye. That said, Kailo isn't certified gluten-free (yet), and our bars are made in a shared facility.
Some Kailo bars contain nuts. While we don't use dairy, soy, or gluten-containing ingredients, our bars are made in a facility that processes peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, dairy, and soy.
Please review the ingredient list and consult with your healthcare provider if you have specific allergies or dietary concerns.
Not yet. We use organic ingredients whenever possible and we are working to get certified as we scale. Stay tuned.
Yes, all of our ingredients are non-GMO. We make sure nothing in Kailo comes from genetically modified sources.
Yes. Kailo products pass the parent-nutrition test, and are kid-taste approved. Don't take it from me though, here's a direct quote from my 6 year old niece, Anya: “It's yummy!”
Kailo bars stay fresh for up to 8 months. Just store them at room temp, away from direct sunlight, and you're good to go. Want to keep them fresh even longer? Toss them in the fridge or freezer. If you chill them, let them warm up a bit before digging in for the best taste and texture.
The Intro Pack is six bars, two of each flavor, for $25. If you don't love it we'll refund you in full within 30 days and you keep the bars.
